Terms of Service

Terms of Service & Licence Terms

These terms explain how you may use meandre, what remains yours, and how app store purchases and subscriptions are handled.

Last updated: 30 May 2026

In plain language

The full terms follow below. Here is a plain-English summary of the key points.

  • meandre is licensed to you for personal use. It is not sold outright, but your journal content always belongs to you — not to us.
  • Your notes and reflections are yours. We do not claim ownership of anything you write in meandre.
  • Purchases go through app stores. If you buy meandre or a subscription, billing, refunds, and renewals are handled by Apple, Google, or Microsoft — not by us directly.
  • meandre is a reflection tool, not professional advice. It is not a substitute for mental health, medical, or legal guidance.
  • Questions? Contact us at hello@dunamiswebservices.co.uk or via the Support page.

Overview

meandre is a private reflective journaling app provided by Dunamis Web Services Limited, trading as DWS Software (“DWS Software”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By downloading, installing, accessing, or using meandre, you agree to these Terms of Service and Licence Terms.

If you do not agree to these terms, do not use meandre.

Licence to Use meandre

meandre is licensed, not sold. Subject to these terms and the rules of the app store or platform where you obtained meandre, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use meandre for your own lawful personal use.

You may not copy, resell, rent, lease, sublicense, reverse engineer, modify, or distribute meandre except where applicable law expressly allows it.

Your Journal Content

Your notes, reflections, tags, reminders, and journal entries are your content. We do not claim ownership of your journal content.

You are responsible for the content you create, store, export, share, back up, or sync using meandre. If you choose to use device backup, cloud sync, export, or sharing features, the relevant platform or service may also apply its own terms and privacy rules.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use meandre lawfully and responsibly. You must not use meandre to:

  • Break applicable laws or regulations.
  • Harass, threaten, abuse, or harm another person.
  • Create, store, or distribute unlawful, exploitative, or malicious material.
  • Interfere with meandre, its services, its security, or another user’s use of the app.
  • Attempt to access systems, data, or features you are not authorised to access.

Privacy

meandre is designed around private reflection and local-first ownership. Our handling of personal data is explained in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of the wider information you should read before using meandre.

Purchases, Refunds, and Subscriptions

If you buy meandre, subscribe to premium features, or make an in-app purchase through the Apple App Store, Google Play, Microsoft Store, or another platform store, that purchase is handled by the platform store you used.

Billing, renewals, cancellations, refunds, taxes, and payment support are governed by the applicable platform store terms and account settings. We may provide information to help with support, but the store provider is generally responsible for processing payments and refunds.

Store Licence References

For Microsoft Store “Applicable license terms”, Google Play, App Store, and similar store listing references, these Terms of Service and Licence Terms are the applicable licence terms for meandre unless a platform’s own standard end user licence terms apply and cannot be varied.

Where platform store terms conflict with these terms, the platform store terms apply only to the extent required for purchases, distribution, installation, updates, refunds, or platform account management.

Updates and Availability

We may update, improve, change, suspend, or discontinue parts of meandre over time. Some features may depend on your device, operating system, app version, platform store, subscription status, or optional services such as backup and sync.

No Warranty

meandre is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not promise that meandre will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with every device, or suitable for every purpose.

meandre is a journaling and reflection tool. It is not medical, mental health, financial, legal, or professional advice.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Dunamis Web Services Limited will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses, or for loss of data, profits, revenue, goodwill, or business arising from your use of meandre.

Nothing in these terms limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as meandre changes or as legal, store, or platform requirements change. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of meandre after updated terms are published means you accept the updated terms.
