Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy

meandre is built for private reflection. This policy explains what data may be collected through the website, early access and tester forms, and the app.

Last updated: 21 May 2026

In plain language

The full policy follows below. These are the five commitments that matter most.

  • Your journal content stays on your device. Notes and reflections are stored locally by default. We do not store, read, or scan them.
  • We only ask for your email when you join early access or contact us. We do not sell it or share it with advertisers.
  • No tracking on this website. No advertising cookies, heatmaps, or session recording tools unless this is explicitly disclosed.
  • Encrypted backup. If you use backup or sync, that data is encrypted so that we cannot read your reflection content.
  • You are in control. You can unsubscribe from emails or ask us to delete your contact records at any time by emailing privacy@dwssoft.com.

Overview

meandre is a private reflective journaling app. It is designed around local-first ownership, calm review, and careful handling of personal information.

This policy covers the meandre website, early access and tester forms, feedback collection, and the meandre app. It is written to be understandable rather than dense. The licence and use of meandre are covered in the Terms of Service.

Data Controller

meandre is operated by Dunamis Web Services Limited (“DWS Software”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). DWS Software is the operator of meandre, and Dunamis Web Services Limited is the data controller for the purposes of UK GDPR and applicable data protection law.

Website Data

The meandre website is intended to be lightweight. Unless this changes, the website does not use cookies, advertising trackers, heatmaps, or session recording tools.

  • Early access forms collect your email address so we can send updates and invitations.
  • Tester forms may collect feedback, platform, app version, and optional name or email.
  • Form data may be processed with services such as Brevo and Google Sheets to manage communication and analyse feedback.

App Data

Notes, reflections, tags, reminders, review scores, and app settings are stored locally by default. Your reflection content is not collected by the website forms.

If you choose to use backup or sync, backup/sync data is encrypted. The intention is that developers should not be able to read reflection content from encrypted backup or sync data. You control whether you use backup and sync features.

Telemetry and Analytics

meandre may use optional, lightweight telemetry to improve reliability and understand broad feature usage. If enabled, it will be transparent and limited.

Telemetry may include

  • App version
  • Platform or device class
  • Whether onboarding was completed
  • Note created count
  • Reflection completed count
  • Reminder usage
  • Sync or backup success and failure
  • Crash or stability signals
  • Broad performance buckets

Telemetry will not include

  • Note contents or reflection contents
  • Note titles, tags, or searches
  • Advertising identifiers
  • Location or contacts
  • Session recordings or heatmaps
  • Social graph data
  • Behavioural profiling data

Third-Party Services

meandre uses or may use a small number of services for communication, tester analysis, app distribution, and optional reliability analytics.

  • Brevo for early access and tester communications.
  • Google Sheets for tester and feedback analysis.
  • Google Drive, iCloud, or platform storage for sync and backup where applicable.
  • App store providers for purchases, downloads, and platform account management.
  • Firebase Analytics may be used in future only within the telemetry limits described above.

GDPR Rights

Depending on where you live and what data is involved, you may have privacy rights including:

  • Accessing the personal data held about you.
  • Correcting inaccurate information.
  • Requesting deletion where applicable.
  • Objecting to or restricting certain processing.
  • Requesting portability where applicable.
  • Withdrawing consent for emails or optional telemetry.
  • Unsubscribing from emails at any time.

Data Retention

Early access and tester data is kept only as long as it is useful for testing, product communication, and understanding feedback. Feedback may be retained to support product improvement.

Email subscribers can unsubscribe. App data stored locally or in your chosen sync or backup storage is controlled by you through the app and the relevant platform account.

Contact

For privacy questions or manual data requests, contact privacy@dwssoft.com. You can ask to access, correct, or delete identifiable records connected with support requests, tester submissions, mailing list or early access records, and website contact records.

We may need to verify your identity before deleting identifiable records.

Changes

This policy may be updated as meandre changes. When it is updated, the “Last updated” date will be changed so you can see when the wording was last reviewed.
